Magic in monochrome! Taylor Swift shows her sexy side in a skintight black-and-white dress to attend MuchMusic Video Awards

By JENNIFER PEARSON

Very revealing: Taylor Swift left little to the imagination her black-and-white patterned bandage dress to attend Sunday's MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto

Taylor Swift had the crowd begging for more.
The Red singer made her very first appearance at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto one to remember on Sunday, where she won the biggest award of the night, Favourite Artist.
Taylor knocked everyone out at the city's biggest block party by showing up in a clingy black-and-white patterned bandage dress that left no curve hidden.

Paper thin: Taylor showed off quite a slender figure as she posed provocatively in her strappy heels

The frock featured a scoop neckline that, while it showed no excess cleavage, still portrayed quite a revealing picture.
The scanty outfit allowed the 23-year-old songstress to proudly display her toned arms and legs.
The ensemble was completed by a roguish pair of black-strapped high heels.

Modest moment: Taylor smiled modestly as she took to the stage

Taylor fluffed out her blonde hair and let it flow loosely down her back while her bangs stopped just short of her eyelashes.
The pop singer, who has been touring to promote her Red album, is performing and presenting at the Canadian event.
Her Herve Leger look made the crowds grow wild and for the pop culture media to call it her 'sexiest look yet.'

Favourite Artist Winner: Swift posed with her award at the press wall

Swift seems to be growing up fast, and she proved she can handle it all: the fashion, the fame and the music.
Meanwhile, the crowd popular Demi Lovato - now a blonde - was seen earlier in the day rehearsing in the open air, wearing a denim shirt over a black and white polka dot dress and black tights.

Forty people are left stranded 20ft in the air for three hours at Chessington World of Adventures after Rameses Revenge ride breaks down

Riders - including 25 children - became trapped at theme park in Surrey
Mechanical failure yesterday saw 39 riders trapped in safety restraints
London Fire Brigade got everyone out with specialist cutting equipment
Chessington: 'We are very sorry for discomfort our guests experienced'

By MARK DUELL

Trapped: This image was taken by Simon Speller, who was stuck on the ride in Chessington, Surrey, yesterday

A broken theme park ride left thrill seekers, many of them children, stranded in mid-air for up to two hours.
Fire crews had to cut 39 people from safety restraints last night as they hung 20ft in the air on the Rameses Revenge ride.
Riders, including 25 children, are believed to have become trapped on the attraction at Chessington World of Adventures, Surrey.

Stuck: The fault was caused by a mechanical failure which saw the riders trapped in their harnesses

The fault was caused by a mechanical failure which saw the riders trapped in their harnesses. The London Fire Brigade managed to get everyone off by 7:30pm with specialist cutting equipment.
Nobody was injured but several were said to be ‘agitated and stressed’.
It is thought staff tried to restart the ride before calling 999 at 5.20pm. It then took two hours to free riders as staff handed up sunscreen and water.

In air: The Rameses Revenge ride (file picture) sits in the Forbidden Kingdom area of the £43-per-person park

Justin Coo, of London Fire Brigade, said children as young as eight were likely to have been trapped, but due to a minimum height requirement of 4ft 7in there were not thought to be any younger children.
Mr Coo said at 7pm that there were around 15 people left on the ride - and half an hour later the fire service had confirmed that everyone had been rescued.
He added that Chessington had been looking after the riders - ‘feeding and watering them’ - while park staff tried to release all 39 themselves, before they decided to call the fire brigade.

Break down: Officials at the park - which was founded as a zoo in 1931 on the grounds of a country mansion, before reopening as a theme park in 1987 - confirmed the attraction would be open tomorrow

He told Sky News: ‘As to how it happened, it's a mechanical failure. We've only got about 15 people remaining on the ride. They had been there for about two hours before.
‘We've had one minor asthma attack. We had 39 in total on the ride, and I would suggest that two thirds of those were children - probably from about age eight upwards.’
‘We can confirm that there has been the failure and we're using our dedicated cutters. They (Chessington) were looking to have a mechanical solution themselves - and they asked us to attend.’

There's nothing she won't do for an all over tan! Kelly Brook goes topless as she soaks up the sun in Mexico

By SARAH BULL

There's nothing she won't do for an all-over tan! Kelly Brook went topless as she soaked up the sunshine in Mexico over the weekend

She's got one of the most envied bodies in the celebrity world.
So it's no wonder Kelly Brook isn't shy when it comes to showing off her feminine figure.
In a bid to get an all-over tan while on holiday in Tulum, Mexico on Sunday, Kelly went topless as she soaked up the sunshine.

Sexy in stripes: Kelly had earlier showed off her slim figure in the patterned two-piece

Girl time: Kelly was joined on the holiday by her TV producer pal Sally Griffiths

The 33-year-old model had no qualms about who saw as she shed her bikini top, displaying her famous curves in the process.
The Kent-born beauty wore her brunette hair tied up on top of her head as she went make-up free for the outing.
But while she appeared to have used a scrunchie to secure her hair, Kelly later tweeted that she was mortified to have used her knickers as a hair tie.
She wrote: 'I'm more mortified to be pictured with my knickers as a hair scrunchie than topless #class lol.'

One you designed earlier? Kelly's swimwear ranges for New Look have been a huge success

Stripping off: Kelly was then seen removing her bikini top to later head back into the ocean

So NOW you're shy?! Kelly covered up her cleavage with her hands at one point

As she arrived on the beach earlier in the day, Kelly was seen displaying her figure in a tiny triangle bikini, before she decided to remove the top and just wear the bottoms to ensure an even bronze.
With her head back and her face turned up to the sun, Kelly looked relaxed and carefree as she made the most of the break.
Clearly determined to return to the UK with a golden tan, Kelly laid on her back before turning onto her front as she caught some rays.
As the heat got a bit too much to handle, Kelly alternated her sunbathing with dips in the cool sea, still lacking her bikini top as she splashed in the surf.

Quick dip: Kelly alternated her sunbathing with a dip in the cool water

Sitting pretty: Kelly looks out to the sea as she enjoyed the break with a female friend

There was no sign of Kelly's boyfriend Danny Cipriani on the break, as he has remained in the UK while she holidays with a female friend.
Earlier, Kelly had posted some pictures of the holiday on her Twitter page, showing off her figure in a bright blue bikini as she relaxed in 'healing' waters near ancient Mayan ruins.
One holiday picture shows her gently rubbing her eyes while she stands in a glorious pool of water after having a leisurely dip.

Kelly Brook does some topless sun bathing in Cancun, Mexico.

Relaxing time: Kelly looked chilled out and carefree as she enjoyed the warm weather

While Kelly is famous around the world for her enviable figure, she admitted in a recent interview that she doesn't worry too much about what she eats - letting herself have treats every now and then.
She explained: 'If you're doing a diet for six weeks, there's no point -- you'll be back where you started soon after you stop. I could never cut out a food group like dairy, it's not sustainable.
'And I don't calorie count. You need a healthy relationship with your whole lifestyle. That means working out how much exercise is realistic for you, cooking healthy meals and being sensible.'

Careful! Kelly grabs the sides of the hammock as she prepares to hoist herself out

Kelly has said before of her diet: 'I have porridge or boiled eggs for breakfast. I love tea and coffee and could drink them all day and snack on biscuits, but I eat fruit if I’m trying to be healthy.
'I also eat a lot of fish, for lunch and dinner. I love sushi or I’ll have a tuna Niçoise salad or salmon steak. I like to make lots of healthy soups in winter, too.’

How to get a Man of Steel body: Superman star Henry Cavill flexes his incredible muscles in workout video

By CLIFF RENFREW

Amazing physique: Superman star Henry Cavill is put through his paces by his trainer Mark Twight before he tackles the Man Of Steel role

British actor Henry Cavill has given fans a glimpse of the grueling fitness regime that helped get him into superhero shape for Man Of Steel
And all the hard work was worth it for the 30-year-old star because the blockbuster took in a massive $128.7 million during it's opening weekend making it the highest grossing movie in June.
In the video, Henry stripped off his shirt to reveal his incredible muscles and is seen lifting huge weights and kettle-balls.

Getting in shape: Superman actor Henry Cavill hits the gym for workout sessions with trainer Mark Twight before filming Man Of Steel

Heavy lift: Henry raises some huge bar bells to bulk-up his body

He pays tribute to his trainer Mark Twight for helping him get into tip-top condition for the movie that will make him a household name around the world.
'Mark Twight is probably one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met,' he said.
'He’s opened my eyes to seeing past what I thought were my limits. He’s a remarkable man, truly.

Building muscle: The British star lifts some huge weights above his head

'He understands what I’m going through physically. He understands me because he sees what I’m going through as a person, which I think is what makes him such a good trainer.'
The training regime adopted by Cavill and Twight has been used to help a new recruitment drive for the National Guard in America,
Twight claimed that everything that the actor went through to get in shape was just as hard as any training a soldier would do calling it a 'process of self discovery'.

Getting stronger: Henry shows that his workout is toning his body to play Superman

And the British actor was in total agreement with his mentor about this point of view.
'One hundred per cent - the training has been a genuine discovery,' he revealed.
'Just like when Superman learned to fly I learned I could do all sorts of things in the gym - he has opened my eyes to what I thought was was my lens.'

Feeling the strain: Henry lifts some huge weights to get in shape for Superman

Despite looking in such great shape now, Henry revealed in the latest Details magazine that he used to be self-conscious about his body.
Although he is now admired by millions of women around the world that wasn't always the case for the star.
The handsome star was teased about being fat when he was younger but he's the one having the last laugh now by having such an amazing body and career too boot.

Super strength: Henry Cavill became incredibly strong due to his amazing workouts

'I was fat ... I was Fat Cavill', he told the magazine.
But after he landed his first major role in the 2002 film The Count of Monte Cristo he was inspired to lose weight and get in shape.
'I lost one and a half stone 921lbs and I wasn't Fat Cavil anymore,' he revealed.
The actor bulked up to play Superman with a strict fitness regime with his trainer while sticking to a 5,000 calorie a day intake.

Total hunk: Henry displays the body that has made him such a big hit with Superman fans around the world

Although the star was still coy about what weight he bulked-up to for the part.
'I will say I was a lot bigger as Superman ... a lot bigger, I'm not say how much,' he added
'It's modesty about the weight - I've always been worried about my weight - but I also don't want to invite the debate: Henry weight this, so he's the perfect Superman.
'Or, Henry doesn't weigh this and therefore he's not believable in the role.'
Whatever the case all those sessions at the gym appeared to have really paid off for the star.

'Lift heavy, hang out, get back under it,' he added.
Although he has found fame and fortune now Joe revealed to Men's Health that things were not always as easy for him as he struggled to make a name for himself in Hollywood.

Looking good: Joe's new found fame in True Blood has afforded him a better lifestyle

Before becoming a household name on HBO's True Blood the actor struggled to pay his rent as he landed bit parts on movie's like Spiderman.
'About 6 months after the shoot ended (for Spiderman), I got thrown out of my apartment for not paying rent,' he revealed.
'Lost my car. Lost all my clothes. Furniture. The sheriff gave me 5 minutes to collect my things in a duffle bag and leave the apartment.'
But these days as the new season of True Blood premiered last night he has no such worries as his career goes from strength to strength.

Miranda Kerr keeps it short and sweet as she shows off her endless legs in high-waisted hot pants

By KAILEY HARLESS

The long and short of it! Supermodel Miranda Kerr flaunted her endless legs in summery shorts while out in New York City on Monday

She is one of the highest paid models in the world.
And even on Miranda Kerr's day off, one can see why.
The 30-year-old took to the New York City sidewalk on Monday in a summer-perfect ensemble.

Balancing act: Although the 30-year-old showed lots of legs, she toned down the outfit's revealing nature with a billowing blouse

The 5ft9 beauty strutted one long leg in front of the other in a pair of very short shorts.
Their high waist flattered the former Victoria's Secret Angel's slight frame and allowed her pins to soak in some sun.
Complementing the white and denim tie-dye hot pants was a loose chambray button-down.
The mother of one tucked her blouse into her revealing bottoms, which let the oversized shirt billow at the waist and balance out the revealing nature of her shorts.

Leggy lady! The former Victoria's Secret Angel donned her very slender legs in denim tie-dye shorts

Keeping the remainder of her look low-key, the wife of Orlando Bloom paired the ensemble with silver ballet flats and a grey suede handbag.
Miranda covered up her eyes with a pair of large cat-eye sunglasses, but her smile reveled a pink lip gloss.
The Australian stunner credits her glow and slender figure to regular yoga practise and eating a balanced diet.
In an interview with Vogue UK she said: 'I practise yoga daily; I do half an hour in the morning plus half an hour of meditation.'
She continued: 'I love food and enjoy eating fresh organic produce. I drink warm water and lemon every morning and I also drink lots of good quality purified and preferably alkaline water throughout the day.'

Easy does it: Miranda kept her make-up to a minimum and swept her brown locks into a high bun

Woah momma! A ripped Cristiano Ronaldo is the real life Johnny Bravo in tiny shorts and aviators

By LOUISE SAUNDERS and HANNA FLINT

Aviators, check. Blonde hair, check. Muscly physique, check.
Forget being a world class Real Madrid footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo turned himself into Johnny Bravo for his holiday in Miami.
Scoping out the beach from aboard a luxury yacht, Cristiano, 28, in his tiny, canary yellow shorts, smirked the self-assured grin of the classic Cartoon Network character.

Spot the difference: Cristiano Ronaldo is the real life version of Johnny Bravo on his Miami break

Displaying his ridiculously toned stomach, abs, and pretty much every muscle of his body, it was no wonder the 28-year old's mates looked reluctant to stand so close to him.
And while they may not have matched the Portuguese football star's physical stature, they certainly shared his love for bright patterns and colours with one gent wearing pink shorts and the other in a checked pair.
Their tans certainly matched, and the three spent some time sunning themselves on the bow of the ship, enjoying a nap in the Floridian heat.

New 'do: Ronaldo's blonde highlights looked as bright as the colour of his shorts

Showing off his buff body as he soaked up the Florida sun, the football superstar made sure he stood out from the crowd in a pair of bright yellow shorts.
Already sporting an impressive tan, Ronaldo looked every inch the dapper dude with his hair slicked up and dark shades sheltering his eyes from the rays.
But one pair of bright shorts didn't seem to be enough, with the striker switching into a hot pink pair and a pristine white vest as the group went for a wander later in the day.

Awkward: His friends didn't look to comfortable standing next to the chiseled footballer

Finishing off his holiday look with a navy blue trilby, the Portuguese hunk seemed to be in his absolute element as he strutted his stuff around Miami with his group of friends.
Ronaldo has made the most of a break from the beautiful game, and appears to have been enjoying hitting the town for numerous nights out.
Posting a snap on his Instagram page of him and two friends heading out for the evening, he wrote: 'On vacations.'

Don't sleep for too long: The heat seems to have made the boys drowsy as they take a nap under the Floridian sun

Too far you have taken this dog grooming: Hysterical pictures as owners dress their pets as film and TV characters

Dogs dressed as characters from Star Wars, Disney and Sesame Street feature in 'extreme dog grooming' contests
Winners of the competitions can scoop more than $30,000 in prize money for single event
Animal photographer Ren Netherland travels thousands of miles every year to capture the images

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

May the paws be with you: The Star Wars character Yoda is the inspiration for this dog at a creative grooming competition in Hershey, Pennsylvania

A lot of people will have dressed up as a character from a Disney or Star Wars film at some point in their lives but not many will have dressed their dog as one.
These astonishing pets were all contestants at different 'creative dog grooming' contests across America, where winners can scoop over $30,000 in prize money for a single event.
The images were taken by animal photographer Ren Netherland, from Florida, who travels thousands of miles every year to the country's most extreme grooming competitions.

All of the dogs have been sheared and coloured to achieve the final look. Contestants at the grooming competitions visited by Mr Netherland included a dog dressed as the characters of Sesame Street, one dressed as Yoda from Star Wars and another dressed as different Disney characters.
Other dogs were dressed as tigers, elephants, robots, lions, dragons, and exotic birds. It takes two intense hours for the groomers to produce their masterpieces before facing judges.

Mr Netherland said: 'The owners have to grow out their dog's hair in preparation for the show - so that it's long enough for them to make something. 'They train and rehearse throughout the year in preparation for the competition, whittling their creation down to a fine art.
'The best thing for spectators is that when the poodles fist come onto the stage, they just look like normal poodles. Suddenly they are transformed before your eyes into something colourful and completely different. The dogs seem to enjoy the pampering and all the attention.'

How I Learned to Love Mac Miller

By mtvhive.com

I was wrong about Mac Miller. Really wrong. Back in 2011, I was one of many music critics who slated the Pittsburgh-raised rapper’s Blue Slide Park debut with an enthusiastic abandon and lots of cheap puns about the tyke-like Miller. It was like slaughtering a shih-tzu; a particularly twee and yappy shitzu who becomes so annoying that you don’t feel bad about digging in to it. I even suggested it was akin to the insufferable cast of Glee making a rap album. It also saw Mac rhyme “coffee shop” with “holocaust,” which still endures as a high-point of torrid rhyming couplets.

Despite the critical lashings Blue Slide Park received, Mac Miller quickly went on to become a real-deal superstar. Today, his social media game dominates the outlets who took umbrage at his music. But despite his success, Blue Slide Park cast Mac Miller as a rapper I stopped having any interest in. He existed outside my sphere of interest. That is until earlier this year when he popped up on “21& Over,” a song with boom-bap revivalist Statik Selektah and rugged punchline king Sean Price.

I retweeted a link to the track, which somehow lead to Arthur Pitt, the vice-president of the Rostrum Records label Miller is signed to, asking myself and another blogger, “I just want to know who pays you boys for the years of slander thrown our way?” Banter ensued, which lead to an early listen to Miller’s follow up album, Watching Movies With the Sound Off. And it’s good. Really good. It sounds like the work of an entirely different rapper. It’s as if we’re finally getting to hear the real Mac Miller.

Whereas Blue Slide Park was embossed with a poppy and playful sheen, Watching Movies is strewn with static and distortion. It opens with a wave of slow-building scuzzy atmospheric effects which morph into the song “The Star Room.” Mac talks about living inside his head, dwelling in purgatory, and dealing with demons. This endearingly eerie vibe continues through the excellently-sequenced first run of songs: “Avian” is hooked around a stripped-down piano motif and has Mac urging kids to embrace the world outside of their computer screens; “I’m Not Real” has him out-rhyming the lauded Earl Sweatshirt over an off-kilter beat.

Then comes the Flying Lotus-produced “S.D.S.” which offers up another woozy, static-sodden backdrop and Mac coining the bumptious brag, “I’m dope and I know/ My voice sound like it was a sample off of vinyl.” It one of those calling card couplets. The rest of Watching Movies continues in a similar manner, with Mac Miller’s music embracing more rugged and experimental tendencies. It winds up with another couple of highlights, the rambunctious team-up with Tyler, The Creator for “O.K.” and the closing confessional “Claymation.”

Lil Wayne: ‘Never Intended to Desecrate Flag’

By Luchina Fisher @luchina
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2013/06/lil-wayne-never-intended-to-desecrate-flag/

Ilya S. Savenok/Getty Images

Lil Wayne took to Twitter and Facebook to deny purposely trampling on the flag in a video for his song “God Bless Amerika.”
“I didn’t step on the flag on purpose! It’s a scene in a video where the flag drops behind me and after it drop it’s just there as I perform,” he tweetedtoday. In the one-minute clip from the video which surfaced online Monday, he is seen singing and dancing in front of a large red, white and blue flag before it drops to reveal residents from his hometown Hollygrove, New Orleans. With Old Glory at his feet, Lil Wayne continues to perform, at times appearing to step on the flag.
But the 30-year-old rapper said on his Facebook page, “It was never my intention to desecrate the flag of the United States of America.”

A wide shot of the footage allowed Internet viewers to see the flag at the rapper’s feet, but he said that camera angle was never intended to be seen in the finished music video.
“The clip that surfaced on the Internet was a camera trick clip that revealed behind the American Flag was the Hoods of America,” Lil Wayne wrote on Facebook. “In the final edit of the video you will see the flag fall to reveal whats behind it but will never see it on the ground.”

After the minute-long clip surfaced, some fans were quick to express outrage: “that is extremely disrespectful! 1st dropping tha american flag on tha ground and then wayne walking all over it!!! I have now lost all respect for you wayne!” one wrote.
The song’s lyrics fanned the controversy. They include the line, “My country ’tis of thee / Sweet land of kill ‘em all and let ‘em die,” and the hook, “God bless Amerika / This so godless Amerika” Wayne explained on Facebook that the song reflects the environment that he and many others have grown up in.
“In most people eyes including my own who were raised in that environment, the Hood is the only America they know and the only America I knew growing up. I was fortunate from my God giving talents to escape the Hood and see the other beautiful places this country has to offer but most people who are born in that environment don’t get that chance. That’s their view of their America. That was Dwayne M Carter from Hollygrove New Orleans view of America. That’s who I’m speaking for in this song.”

‘The Voice’: Shakira, Usher, Blake Shelton And Adam Levine Cover A Beatles Classic

By Caila Ball

It’s been a big season of The Voice! Two new coaches — Shakira and Usher— joined Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the rotation, Shakira gave birth (off-camera, but still), country took over, Carson Daly didn’t change out of his suit and Christina Milian rocked approximately 14 different nonsensical hairstyles during the live shows.

Oh. And some contestants performed. Try not to forget about them in the excitement and guest performances.

The two-night, four-hour season finale of The Voice got underway on Monday. In an evening filled with hyperbole and the earnest use of the phrase “go big or go home,” each of the three finalists performed three songs: a throwback from earlier in the season, a coach duet and a solo turn. While all of the performances would certainly hold some sway in voter decisions, only the solos are factored into the iTunes downloads portion of the vote.

Before we turn to the finalists’ performances, all four coaches join forces on stage together for the first time since the season premiere. This fab four perform The Beatles’ “With A Little Help From my Friends” (the Joe Cocker version), likely to assure America that even after all the bickering, they’re still all friends. Adorbs. These kids should perform together more often! The whole spectacle is fun, high-energy and manages to compliment each of their voices.

Empowering women of all shapes and sizes, the risque group photo shoots have become increasingly popular with brides-to-be, who would traditionally pose solo for a sultry image for their new husband.
'A lot of girls would bring along a friend for moral support, so then we thought, "Hey, wouldn’t it be fun if it was a whole group of people?"' photographer Catherine Leonard told the New York Post's Jane Ridley. 'They bring wine and food and turn it into a real celebration.'

Ms Leonard charges between $400 and $500 per person for a boudoir party, which includes hair and make-up, and can be shot at her New York studio or on location.
'I am still in shock about how powerful my experience was,' said one woman, Sarah, about her boudoir party. 'I don't think I've ever felt so empowered!'

Pricey profile: Boudoir parties cost between $400 and $500 per person, which includes hair and make-up, and can be shot at her New York studio or on location

Jennie Richards, 32, and her friend Amy Blair, held a joint bachelorette party in Manhattan last month, which included a group boudoir photography session with Ms Leonard.
'[Our session] was all about bonding and having fun with my friends,' explained Ms Richards. 'We all felt incredibly happy and beautiful. It was great because the whole point was to feel good about ourselves.'

Group support: Brides-to-be Amy Blair (center) and Jennie Richards (far right) pose with their sisters Shelly Blair (far left), Jillian Richards and friend Tara Jefferson

She added, laughing: 'I’m not exactly sure what we’ll do with the print. Maybe put it in a drawer and dig it out in 15 years and say, "Wow, look how young and skinny we all were!"'
While most boudoir parties are booked by brides-to-be and their bridesmaids, other women who are celebrating milestones, like a 30th birthday or the birth of a new baby, will pose for the modern day glamor shots.
'It’s a great way to bond because there’s the obvious element of strength and safety in numbers,' explained photographer Christa Meola, who hosts boudoir parties in luxury hotel suites in New York and Los Angeles.
'Everyone has a blast and encourages each other to loosen up. It definitely makes for great photos when there are a lot of women doing this together.'

Cher credits luck for her lengthy career

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (AP) — Cher is no stranger to tabloid fodder.
The 67-year-old singer who has spent most of her life in the spotlight offered this advice to young artists on navigating the world of paparazzi attention: "You're screwed. That's my advice."
"You don't deal with it. You just try to get a place where no one can find you and that's your little sanctuary," continued the "Believe" singer in an interview Tuesday. "I have a fabulous house that I love and it's my sanctuary."

Looking ever the rock star in leather and studs, Cher took the stage Tuesday for the season finale of NBC's "The Voice." She performed "Woman's World," the first single off her upcoming album of the same name — her 26th album since she began recording in the 1960s.

Cher said reality singing competitions are simply a modern incarnation of classic star-makers like "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts."
"It's just another vehicle, you know what I mean? Talent is talent," she said on the red carpet following the finale which crowned 16-year-old country singer Danielle Bradbery the winner.
The young powerhouse from Blake Shelton's team beat out indie rocker Michelle Chamuel and country duo the Swon Brothers for the season four title.

Though Cher has topped the Billboard pop charts throughout the last six decades, she credits luck, not necessarily talent, for her incredible staying power.
"If you have an idea, you tell me because I haven't got a clue," she said of her secret to career longevity. "I believe that luck has a lot to do with it. There are lots of people who are more talented or whatever, but somehow this has been my path. So this is what I'm doing."

James Gandolfini, Who Portrayed Tony Soprano, Dead at 51

By MICHAEL S. JAMES and LESLEY MESSER (@lesleymesser)

James Gandolfini, the actor who most famously portrayed Tony Soprano on the series "The Sopranos," has died in Italy at age 51.

"It is with immense sorrow that we report our client James Gandolfini passed away today while on holiday in Rome, Italy," said his managers, Mark Armstrong and Nancy Sanders. "Our hearts are shattered and we will miss him deeply. He and his family were part of our family for many years and we are all grieving."

Though he rose to his greatest fame playing a New Jersey mob boss on "The Sopranos," Gandolfini also had a long and diverse list of credits as a stage and film actor, including many character and supporting roles.

"He was a genius. Anyone who saw him even in the smallest of his performances knows that," "Sopranos" creator David Chase said in a prepared statement this evening. "He is one of the greatest actors of this or any time. A great deal of that genius resided in those sad eyes. I remember telling him many times, 'You don't get it. You're like Mozart.' There would be silence at the other end of the phone. ... He wasn't easy sometimes. But he was my partner, he was my brother in ways I can't explain and never will be able to explain."

After "The Sopranos" ended its run in 2007, Gandolfini received a Tony nomination starring in the Broadway hit, "God of Carnage," described in a 2009 New York Times article as a "satiric comedy."

Gandolfini told The Times in 2009 that he had been looking for an acting change of pace.
"I love hearing people laugh," he told the interviewer. "Especially in New York, and especially now. To hear somebody out there just belly-laughing."

James Gandolfini dead at 51: The Sopranos actor dies in Italy following a suspected heart attack

By GEORGE STARK

Dead at 51: James Gandolfini was in good spirits as he attended a charity gala on June 10; he has died of a suspected heart attack in Italy

James Gandolfini has died aged 51 after a suspected heart attack, it has been confirmed.
The Sopranos star was on vacation in Rome and was due to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Lin and two children, Michael, 13, and nine-month-old daughter Liliana Ruth.

Devoted dad: James was said be 'thrilled' at the arrival of his daughter last year; he is pictured carrying her to lunch with his wife in May

In a statement Gandolfini's managers Mark Armstrong and Nancy Sanders confirmed the death, which happened on Wednesday.
'Our hearts are shattered and we will miss him deeply. He and his family were part of our family for many years and we are all grieving,' they said.
Cable channel HBO called the actor a 'special man, a great talent, but more importantly a gentle and loving person who treated everyone, no matter their title or position, with equal respect.'

Loving family: James and wife Deborah Lin attended the Cirque du Soleil in LA in 2011 with his son Michael and a friend

'We're all in shock and feeling immeasurable sadness at the loss of a beloved member of our family,' HBO said.
'He touched so many of us over the years with his humor, his warmth and his humility. Our hearts go out to his wife and children during this terrible time. He will be deeply missed by all of us.'
Gandolfini's wife, former model Deborah Lin, gave birth to a baby girl last October, and the couple married in Hawaii in 2008.

Married to the mob: In character with his Sopranos co-stars Edie Falco, Robert Iler and Jamie-Lynn Sigler

Following the birth of his daughter, a spokesperson for the actor said he was 'thrilled' at becoming a father again.
His rep said: 'I am happy to confirm that James and Deborah Gandolfini are the proud parents of a happy and healthy baby girl.'
James also has a son, Michael, with his ex-wife, Marcy Wudarski, who he divorced after three years of marriage in 2002.

Complex character: James Gandolfini alongside actors Tony Sirico Federico Castellucio, and Steven Van Zandt in The Sopranos

There has been a huge outpouring of grief on Twitter from celebrities following the tragically sad news.
Amongst those to share their sadness were stars who had worked with Gandolfini.
'RIP James Gandolfini. A great friend,' wrote Jeff Daniels, his co-star in Broadway's God of Carnage.
'I am so deeply saddened by the untimely passing of sweet James Gandolfini!' tweeted Christina Applegate, his co-star in the 2004 comedy Surviving Christmas. 'My heart is broken for his family!! I’m in shock.'
Steve Carell, who was about to work with the larger-than-life star in HBO Films' Bone Wars, added: 'James Gandolfini. Unbelievably sad news. A fine man.'

Celebrated: James and his on-screen wife Edie Falco both won at the 2000 Golden Globes for their roles as Tony and Carmela Soprano

'He was a genius,' said The Sopranos creator David Chase.
'Anyone who saw him even in the smallest of his performances knows that. He is one of the greatest actors of this or any time. A great deal of that genius resided in those sad eyes.'
He added: 'He wasn't easy sometimes. But he was my partner, he was my brother in ways I can't explain and never will be able to explain,'

Award-winning: James Gandolfini with his award for Outstanding Lead Actor at the 52nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles in 2000

Chris Albrecht who gave the greenlight for crime family drama at HBO in 1999 and approved Gandolfini for the role told Deadline: 'Absolutely stunned. I got the word from Lorraine Bracco and just got off with Brad Grey who had just heard from David Chase. We had all become a family. This is a tremendous loss.'
Gandolfini rose to fame playing the hit man in the 1993 film True Romance, and roles in films such as Terminal Velocity and Get Shorty followed.

Loving husband: James and his second wife Deborah Lin, pictured here at a HBO event in 2011, married in Hawaii in 2008

However, it wasn't until his breakout role in the hit television show The Sopranos that he became a household name playing mob boss Tony Soprano, winning three Emmy Awards for the role.
Gandolfini won a huge fan base playing complicated character, who juggled family life with his wife and children with leading a criminal organization at the same time.
The character died in the season finale, although the audience was never shown the moment of his death.
Speaking to Vanity Fair about the ending, Gandolfini said: ‘What the f***? I mean, after all I went through, all this death, and then it’s over like that?'

Versatile: James Gandolfini starred opposite Twilight's Kristen Stewart in the heartwarming 2010 movie Welcome To The Rileys

In memory: A reserved sign sits on the booth where the last series The Sopranos was filmed at Holsten's ice cream parlor in Bloomfield, New Jersey on Wednesday

Meanwhile his co-star Joe Gannascoli, who played Vito Spatafore on the HBO drama, said he was shocked and heartbroken at the news.
'Fifty-one and leaves a kid -- he was newly married. His son is fatherless now ... It's way too young,' Gannascoli said.
Following the success of the HBO television series - which finished in 2007 - he continued to make big screen appearances in critically acclaimed films including In The Loop and The Taking of Pelham 123.

Tribute: Gandolfini's picture is displayed in the window of a restaurant in the Little Italy neighborhood of New York following his sudden death on Wednesday

He appeared alongside Twilight actress Kristen Stewart in the heartwarming drama Welcome to the Rileys and voiced the Wild Thing Carol in Where the Wild Things Are.
In his personal life, Gandolfini made his first public appearance with Deborah at the premiere of the second half of the sixth and final series of The Sopranos in March 2007.
Their wedding just a year later was an incredibly romantic affair.

Paying their respects: Fans stop to contemplate Gandolfini's make-shift memorial

Senior year: James Gandolfini, in 1979 at Park Ridge High School, New Jersey

They exchanged vows in front of family and friends at Honolulu's Central Union Church.
Deborah wore a white gown made of Italian lace, while the church was decorated with white lilies and rhododendrons. He recently played Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta in the Oscar nominated film Zero Dark Thirty.
Born in Westwood, New Jersey, Gandolfini graduated from Park Ridge High School, where he cut his teeth acting in school plays, and went on to study communications at Rutgers University.

'I'm naked in the land of venomous snakes!': Contestants on new Discovery show are most definitely Naked and Afraid

Reality show features naked men and women stranded together in remote locations who must also use their wits and bodies to survive
The ratings-grabbing programme is billed as the 'Everest of survival challenges'

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Grimy: The contestants on Naked and Afraid had never met before being teamed up to survive in the jungle. Kim Shelton and Shane Lewis can't hide their exhaustion.

It would take a brave soul to strip off and bare all for new reality show Naked and Afraid.
Deposited in the jungle without food and water, their breath jagged and shallow, and their nerves on edge, the contestants come face to face with hyenas and poisonous snakes, with one muttering: 'God, we're so screwed'.
Six strangers were put together for the Discovery show, debuting on Sunday, and stranded in the wilderness.
And despite all being experienced survivalists, they're still scared senseless as another admits: 'This is one nasty place...I'm naked in the land of venomous snakes!'

Survival of the fittest: Nude castaways star on Discovery's Naked and Afraid.

Naked and Afraid is billed as taking 'survival of the fittest' to the next level - and dubbed 'the Everest of survival challenges'.

Each duo will be left high and dry with no food, no water and and no clothes. They must survive on their own for a full 21 days, with nothing but one personal item each.

Brave: A contestant goes diving for dinner on Naked and Afraid, which starts on Sunday night.ht.

The dramatic trailer says that humans can only go three days without water - with the human body beginning to shut down after three weeks without food.
And contestants are seen desperately scrambling for something to eat, with one woman seen killing a fish as her partner yells 'chop its head off', as tells it 'you're my dinner.'
While another kills a snake, telling the camera: 'It will still bite you even though I cut its damn head off.'

Scared: Kim Shelton, 22, a student from Minnesota, stripped off for the Discovery show.

The contestants are:Shane Lewis, 40, an electrician from Connecticut who has backpacked around the world. He grew up in foster care and had to adapt to constantly-changing living circumstances.
He took off midway through his college education to backpack across the world and has now been to over seventy countries.

Her raunchiest video ever! Miley Cyrus writhes around on a bed wearing white spandex in full length clip for her new song We Can't Stop

By JADE WATKINS

Her raunchiest video yet? The full length version of Miley Cyrus's video for her new song We Can't Stop was released on Wednesday

She has revealed racy tidbits from her music video for her new single We Can't Stop in the days leading up to it's release on Wednesday.
But nothing prepared her fans for the full blown saucy antics Miley Cyrus gets up to in the full length version of the clip.
Leaving very little to the imagination in a white crop top and matching white spandex leggings, the 20-year-old does some of her raunchiest dance moves ever.

Showing some skin: Miley shows off her midriff in a white crop top and matching tight spandex leggings

At the beginning of the video, the platinum blonde shows off her masculine side, combing her hair roughly and fitting a gold and diamond grill into her mouth.
But it's not long before she is seen lying on the floor, displaying her flat tummy in her tight white ensemble.
She then gyrates and writhes around on a bed, the pop star moving sexily to the beat of the music.

Quick change: Later she slips into somewhat of a hybrid between an Eighties exercise and gangster-style ensemble consisting of a high-cut leotard worth over a 'West Coast' cropped T-shirt

Miley then invites some friends into the video clip, conducting a dance party at what appears to be a home.
Under some flashing disco lights she is seen smacking the behind of a woman with a wooden spoon whilst wearing extremely high-cut denim shorts.

They just don't stop: She continues on with her suggestive dance moves

The lady is then seen returning the favour and Miley then jumps into a pool with some bikini-clad brunettes.
The former Disney star then takes her raunchy antics to the bathroom where she is seen writhing around in a modern-style bathtub.
Later she slips into somewhat of a hybrid between an Eighties exercise and gangster-style ensemble consisting of a high-cut leotard worth over a 'West Coast' cropped T-shirt and a black and white headscarf knotted around her head.

Odd: Miley's video then takes a dark and strange turn, with the pop star changing into black sheer lingerie, which barely covers her modesty, and kissing a plastic doll after jumping in the pool with the toy

She is seen dancing around a white room with people dressed up in bear costumes.
As Miley sings 'To my home girls here with the big butt/Shaking it like we at a strip club', the blonde then bends over in her tight white trousers and shakes her bottom, doing her now infamous 'Twerk' dance moves.
Miley's video then takes a dark and strange turn, with the pop star changing into black sheer lingerie, which barely covers her modesty, and kissing a plastic doll after jumping into the pool with the toy.

Bad in black: Miley wears a sheer neglige featuring embroidered palm trees that cover her breasts

And near the end of the clip, Miley turns tough, belting a pinata with a bat and throwing up gang signs as she does hip hop moves in a mesh crop top, black spandex leggings and a beanie hat featuring a netted fascinator.
Sticking out her tongue, she sings the words 'It's my mouth, I will say what I want to'.
The final frames of the clip show Miley standing in a hotel room wearing nothing but a white leotard with the words 'Dope' emblazoned across the front.

So 'Dope': The final frames of the clip show Miley standing in a hotel room wearing nothing but a white leotard with the words 'Dope' emblazoned across the front

The Last Song star then gets into a physical play fight with another girl before lying down on a sofa with a shirtless male and kissing him on his bare torso.
We Can't Stop is the first single from Miley's fourth studio album due out later this year.
The pop singer also released a 19-second tease of the video on Monday that featured her singing the song at sunset while sitting on a ledge with friends.

So THAT'S why they're watching! The Valleys star Natalee Harris goes topless on Ibiza break... as reality show hits a ratings high

By SARAH BULL

So that's why they're watching! The Valleys star Natalee Harris went topless in Ibiza as it was revealed the season two finale of the reality show hit a ratings high

It's been a ratings hit for MTV, and it's not hard to see why.
The Valleys star Natalee Harris proved once again that she's not shy when it comes to stripping off as she went topless while on holiday in Ibiza earlier this week.
Natalee, 24, showed no signs of embarrassment as she shed her pink bikini top to ensure she got an even tan as she sunbathed by the pool.

Painted lady: Natalee displayed her vast array of tattoos as she climbed out of the pool

The former call centre worker was also seen showing off her large array of inkings on the break, which include an enormous floral design down her side.
She recently had the tattoo extended so that it also covers part of her upper thigh, and her other inkings include a smattering of stars on her back, as well as an etching that looks like a bat on the small of her back.
Her tattoos certainly aren't to everyone's taste, but that won't be of any bother to the loud and boisterous Welsh native.

Getting an even tan: Natalee looked determined to achieve a good bronze as she sat in the sunshine

Before joining the show she told MTV: 'Good press or bad press, it's all some kind of press. There's going to be bitchiness and more hating but on a larger scale - it doesn’t really bother me.'
Natalee has been lapping up the sunshine and working on her tan with co stars Carley Belmonte and Jordan Reed.
The trio have been doing personal appearances in clubs in Spain, Ibiza and Greece.

Ratings high: The season two finale of the show hit a ratings high on Tuesday night

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the reality series hit a ratings high on Tuesday night.
According to viewing figures, an audience of 211,000 16-34s tuned in to watch the finale of season two - the show's highest ever overnight ratings.
While MTV have yet to confirm whether there will be a third series of the show, the ratings combined with the fact that the first season became the second highest rating programme in MTV UK's hisotry, suggest that it looks more than a little likely.
